In fairness, I do think the Tarzan brand does need something new and unexpected in the complicated world of comic, film and tv adaptations, likely because the OG in-canon Tarzan books were pretty super graphic in terms of violence, perhaps way too graphic and mind screwy for comics, films and tv, I guess. To make this fact obvious, canon Tarzan is in a very Gainaxing league of his own.
Unfortunately, chances are that it will be both a crappy slasher horror movie and, frankly, not an officially authorised film adaptation of the Tarzan books at all. Even the recent West Bengali Tollywood MockBuster Tarzan: Jangoler Sher seems more creatively daring in comparison.
Even if so, I am finally becoming ecstatic that Britain is finally getting a fully adults only Tarzan movie of its own, which unfortunately will turn out to be a laughably bad slasher, making the spicier and fruitier South Asian Tarzan MockBusters look handsome in comparison. There’s still good news when all the OG in-canon Tarzan books written by ERB are PD in much of Europe including the UK but just not yet in America, even with Tarzan himself being owned by ERB Inc. Tellingly, on the other hand, I think it will turn out to be just as hair twistingly bad as both the Jungle Diper Tarzan movie and the more enjoyably bad Dingo Pictures Tarzan Lord of the Jungle film as well. Maybe the good news is that ERB Inc is coproducing two anime-inspired Tarzan and Korak shows, which centre on two possible takes on Tarzan and Korak, but with the first one set in outer space for real life political reasons. It looks like ERB Inc is finally facing a ton of historical competition from the more straightforward, outsourced variants, namely the forgettable Marvel comics and the insanely well known Disney spinoff franchise.
